Japanese investment firm Metaplanet announced Wednesday that it had raised $517 million to purchase additional Bitcoin, following a corporate strategy similar to Strategy’s approach to the digital asset.

The company, which has been compared to Strategy for its Bitcoin accumulation strategy, secured half a billion dollars in funding in a single day. The raise represents one of the largest single-day capital raising efforts by a Japanese firm focused on Bitcoin investment.

Earlier this week, the firm announced a $5 billion capital injection into its US subsidiary to accelerate its global expansion efforts. The move is part of Metaplanet’s strategy to establish a globally integrated treasury model and capitalize on its corporate Bitcoin adoption.
